Techno-thriller is a
hybrid genre, which generally comes from science fiction, thrillers, spy, action, and war sub- genres. Techno thriller movies are usually based on modern-technology and
focus on the dangers of that technology falling into the wrong hands. Techno-thrillers often have military involvement and are quite wide scale.
I Robot
I Robot is Set in the future 2035. In 2035 robots exist and are just common assistants and workers for their human owners. In this story a technophobic cop investigates into the murder of Dr. Alfred Lanning, who works at U.S. Robotics. It later becomes apparent that a robot who's name is Sonny has committed the crime, even though that would mean that Sonny the robot
had violated the Three Laws of Robotics, which is apparently impossible. It
seems impossible because... if robots can break those laws, there's nothing to
stop them from taking over the world, as humans have grown to become completely
dependent upon their robots.
