Planning: Action thriller

Action Thrillers

Action thriller films are action packed movies which get you on the edge of your seat. They have semi-realistic story lines and aim to keep you entertained with pyrotechnics.
Plots written within the action or thriller genre often involve a typical heroes, villains, guns and other weapons. Although most action genres are realistic, as it has many sub-genres such as adventure, spy, war and superhero movies. Most action films contain moderate amounts of gore and violence, torture and etc… that is where the thriller side comes into it as they always keep you on the edge of your seat, they usually contain suspense, murder or psychopaths, mysteries and twist.

The action thriller genre hasn't that much changed over the years, but more recently the sub-genre of superheroes has defiantly become more popular like Superman, Batman, Spiderman, etc.... and there is now more of a demand for this.

Action Thrillers uses physical action to create suspense within the film. Like in a traditional Action film, the movie will often have constant motion and action including physical stunts- which would involve stunt doubles, chases, fights, battles, and races. Often, these scenes will contribute to the overall sense of danger that the protagonist is facing.

The purge is a classic example of an action thriller, it involves constant fast motion, deadly weapons, suspense, protagonist, antagonist, the last girl and other important aspects needed for a successful action film.
In the Purge, three groups of people are trying to survive Purge Night- which is a 12-hour period where all and any criminal activity-including murder, becomes legal. The police can't be called and hospitals are closed. Somehow they all meet and are left stranded in The Purge try to survive the night where chaos and violence occurs.
